Choir Festival premieres tonight in Clay auditorium

10/23/2015

Story by Abby Fox

Singing voices down the hall. What is that? It’s the choir preparing for the Choir Festival. The Choir Festival is a choir performance that includes all the three middle schools: Carmel, Creekside, and Clay.

“All the choirs come together and sing in harmony,” Kate Barthuly, eighth grade, said.  “It rotates every year throughout the different schools, but this year it is located in Clay’s Auditorium.”

All the schools will be organized, by placing all the schools in the auditorium together. It will be tallest to smallest on the bleachers. Every school will be singing the same songs.

“I love choir because choir is a lot of fun. We get to sing with our friends and dance too,” Celine Harb, eighth grade, said.

“The Choir Festival is not a competition. It’s a festival to bring us together,” Ali Moss, eighth grade, said.

Josh Pedde, Indianapolis Children’s Choir director, will be directing the Choir Festival this year.

“I’m really excited to see how we are going to sound this year,” Elise Berry, eighth grade, said.

The concert is tonight in the auditorium at 7 p.m. All are welcome to come watch the choirs perform together.

“I love the songs that we are singing with the other choirs,” Barthuly.
